KING REVIEWS 50,000 TROOPSA PANIC AVERTED. By Telecraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. December 15, 11.35 p.m.) Delhi, December 15. Tho review of lifly thousand British and Indian troops by the King to-day wus a magnificent spectacle, lasting an hour and a half. Tho Muharajahs rode at tho head of th.ir own troops. Among them was the child Priuco of liahawalpur, carrying a sword longer thau himself and riding a huge camel at tho head of his camel corps. In tho aftornoon a great audience assembled in tho investituro tent. An hour before tho King was due a cry of firo was raised by a glow of firo through tho tent. This caused tho crowd to rise, and a rush to tho doora was threatened, when cries of "Sit down" steadied the audience. It was discovered that a neighbouring tent -was afiro, owing to a bicycle lamp exploding. Tho burning tent was isolated, and the excitement subsided. Tho King, wearing tho robes of the Star of India, invested the Queon with tho Grand Cross of the Order, and a picturesque ceremony lasting two hours followed, ninety-three Knights and two hundred Companions and members of different orders being decorated. THE NEW CAPITAL. London, December 14. Tho Delhi correspondent of "The Times" says that it is noticeable that the overwhelming .importance of the change of capital from Calcutta to Delhi is not fully grasped, oven by prominent administrators. Tho predominant feeling in Bengal, in tho absence of reasons for the change, is that violent agitation has won a victory. The Mohammedans are unmoved by the chango of capital; they feel that the Moslems of Eastern Bengal have been deserted. The Indians have been enormously impressed by tho power and attributes pf tho Crown. The spectacle when tho King-Emperor announced his intention to shift the capital struck all. Delhi, December 14. Tho King and Queen will to-morrow lay a foundation stone of the new capital. POLITICAL PRISONERS RELEASED. (Roc. December 15, 9.50 p.m.) London, December 15.
