Tho senteuco of seven years' imprisonment passed on Max Schultz, a British subject, arrested in March last on charges of espionage, means hard labour. The severity of the sentence has caused n sensation. llipisch (whoso sentence was twelve years' imprisonment) was nn engineer at the dockyard, 110 alleged that he had bi>eu promised '10 marks weekly by Schultz. The Judge stated that llipisch had made a largo collection of plans, and after a couplo of interviews with Schultz in January last transferred them to emissaries of England. Tho plans provided far-reaching enlightenment on tho most intimate military and naval affairs. Von Maack (sent to prison for three years) gave written information regarding the commissioning of North German Lloyd and Hamburg-American steamers. Wulf (sentenced to two years' imprisonment) was employed in the North German Lloyd Company's machinery works at Bremen.
