ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
-4 STEVEDORE BADLY INJURED. Shortly before 11 a.m. yesterday a steve* doro named William Wrixon, employed by tlio Ciiion Company, sustained n serious accident whilst attending at No. 1 hutch on board the Manuka. A sling of cargo, which was being discharged from the .ship's hold on to the Queen's Wharf, happened lo strike Kixon from behina and knockcd him over the side of the vessel on to the wharf below. In falling his head came in contact with one of the cranes on the wharf, causing fracture of the skull. This and other injuries received were rendered first aid on tho s]xit, mid Kixon was subsequently convoyed to the hospital. Tho injured man is about i!> years of age, mid resides in Ghuzneo Street. AN OLD MAN'S DEATH. There died in the Wellington Hospital roslcrdav Edward John Harvey, an elderly man who met with an accident on Jilonday. Harvey was employed as a casual hand by the Colonial Carrying Company, and on Monday Inst lie was engaged agisting Mr. 0. T. Eitnll, dyer and cleaner, Vivian .Street, to remove a Iwx from a lorry. There was <> mishap during tho unloading, and tho box fell off tho lorry, and jammed Hnrvey against a verandah post ITc was taken to tho hospital, where he died yesterday afternoon. Harvey was GO years of lige. Ho had been living at the Salvation Army Homo in Buckle Street for some time. ACCIDENT TO LITTLE GIRL. A litt'o girl named Mawson hns been admitted lo tho hospital suffering from a fractured skull. The inquest on the lxtdv of Charted Anderson, aged W! vears, who was by being run over by a tramear on December S, was continued to-day. Tho evidence indicated that deceased wa.s d«af and had poor sight. A verdict of accidental death was returned. OLD RESIDENT'S DEATH. Blenheim, TVwmbcr 15. The death is announced of Mr, .Tamos Hutchison, an »!d resident, which occurred nnoxwc.ledly yesterday afternoon. Mr. Hutchison lay down on his lxxl in Ihe afternoon, and, shortly after, WM found dead. SETTLER KILLED. Tlniaru, December 15. A. Trilby, settler, of Milford, was driving to Tomuka on Saturday when the horse bolted, and ran into another 'trap. The occupants were both thrown out. Erisby was picked up unconscious, find never recovered, Ho died on Thursday.
