OTAKI NOTES.
While a number of persons wero driving to the polling booth yesterday, the axle of their vehicle snapped, and the occupants were precipitated on to tho road. The driver, Mr. J. Livcsey, narrowly escaped serious injury, but the others escaped with a shaking. The Manakau chcese factory lias dispatched its first consignment of chccse, forwarding five tons by rail to Wellington en route for tho Home market.
