THE ARRIVAL OF THE NOTABLES. G. X Hill, the Dominion champion one and threo-inilo runner, arrived yes--tcrday to fulfil engagements at the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club's sports meeting; at tho' Basin Reserve on Saturday. The Aucklandcr reports himself as being iu excellent condition, and is confident of making a good showing in his endeavour to lower thu existing record figures for the three-mile run if theweather conditions are favourable. -Hillis staying in Wellington to complete his preparation for the Australasian chains pionships on December 2fi aild 27. Ronald Opie, the sprint champion, leaves Lyttelton to-night, and is reported' to be running in great form. He is appearing in three- events on Saturday' (100, 220, and -110 yards), in.air of which he is on the scratch mark, and >is conceding handicaps big enough to stretch him to his utmost. ■
