MR. FISHER AND SOUTH AFRICAN WAR.
[To the Editor.] Sir,—l road this morning in .your paper of a question being asketl Mr. Fisho'r if it were true that he was court-martiallcd in South Africa. Although I am. not an elector in Wellington Central, I take the liberty of saying that, there is not the slightest foundation for such an accusation. I was a member of the contingent; in which Captain Fisher belonged, and I am in a position to say that he was one of the most popular officers .attached to the South Island regiment.. AI4O, ' 0 ira. recognised as a most cap.iblc air! diligent officer.—l am. etc., . IVM. C. VIUCE. Jiiliiixnit, Dcmubsr li IDU.
