COMMERCIAL EDUCATION. • PRIZES DISTKIBUTED. In pursuance of a cii-loin of several years past the Wcllin.irl-.iii Chamber of Commerce has again awarded prizes to boys and girls uf the public schools of Wellington and -nburbs for wnrk in arithmetic, wriling, mid composition. Mr. Geurgo Wilson, vice-president 'of the Chamber, presiding, in the absence. 11l rough indisposition, of Mr. 11. 0. Te.wsley (president), remarked that the prize list again showed a majority of girls. There were 2!) girls bl9 boys. He nckn'iwledgcd the action of the board in providing extra prizes in :i case where there was a tie. He also expressed gratitude, for the assistance of the Education Board and the teacher*.

Mr. Robert Lee, chairman of the Wellington Education Board, Inspector Bakcwoll, and Air. Watson, headmaster of To -Aro School, briefly addressed the gathering, and acknowledged the assistance given to the work of the Education Board by the Chamber of Commerce.
