Al'lvcr, tecretnvy of tho Methodist Sunday School, asked penuissiou to hold tho annual picnic in connection, with tho school on the Solvray grounds on Xew Year's Day. l'ermission was granted, subject to tho usual conditions. . The secretary of the Combined Bible Classes of .Masterton asked for perinissiou to hold a picnic on tho grounds on fSoxin; Day. .Permission was also granted in that case! Mr. A. J. Loiv, secretary of fho Wellington Acclimatisation .Society, advised that it was not considered that tho society's grounds at Solway would be suitablo for fish-ponds, an expert's opinion being in favour, of the present sito. itv.'Arnold VTcston, of Pahiatuo, suggested better arrangements i'or the conduct of the events in the show ring. He proposed that a' four-sided board Le provided, and that competitors should have thoir'* numbers more prominently .displayed. Tho matter was.left in the hands of Messrs. Vallance. Cooper," consideration of the lliatter was' held ovel- till next meeting; Mr. E. J. Wnekrill, secretary of the Koiuncy Breeders' Association, forwarded particulars for the proposed, judging'.of same at the rntn fair, and'.,submitting tho names of judges. It was decided, on
the motion of Jlr. 0. C. Cooper, that Mr. Freeman H. Jackson,-be advised that the date of the proposed Wanganui ram fair would cln.«b with th.it of Masterton, and that he be asked to alter the date of the Wauganui fair; : <' ■ Mr.' W. T. Penny, secretary of the Manawahi and West Coast A. .and F. Association, wrote, stating that the. proposed deputation ■in reference to Ciovcvnmpnt subsidy would wait upon Ministers as , soon as" a date whs settled. The report of tho sub-committee in reference to seating accommodation, dog kennels, etc., was adopted. It was. decided, on the motion of Mr. Harper, that-the produce stewards meet on.(he show grounds on" .Wednesday'nest. The report of the meeting of the Luncheon Committee, at which Mr. D. Casell>srg was elected chairman, was adopted. It was decided that Mr. .7. Shout be engaged as caterer, and that a hot luncheon bo provided instead of a cold.
