RICKARDS'R VAUDEVILLE CO. The name of Richards is known throughout -Australasia for much that is good and entertaining in vaudeville, and the ' Harry Riekards's Company now appearing at die Opera House keeps up the standard of its' many forerunners under the samo • management. The daring and graceful trapcsM work of .Millie. Alcide Capitaino has becomo Uio wonder of patrons, and she nightly receives generous appreciation. Other artists in the bill, who aro well up. Ho the hall-mark, aro Sydney Bach, Clarke.and Mostol, Pastor and I Merle, and Misses Camillo . Cornwall, and Fanny Powers. Included in the Kcries i.i Pa the's "Australian Gazette." "Tho Judge's Story," and others. Tho second baby competition is being continued, and is iiliraeting much interest. KING'S THEATRE. Tho current week's programme of mo<v ing pictures at tho King's Theatre is a • good one. Included in it ore some splendid dramatic studies, one in particular ("A Pal's Oath") being a thrilling story of the Wild West. Other pictures arot "A study in Plowers," "Through Par;'§ on tho Seine." and "Tho Runaway Wry." West's and the Roval exclusive .attraction, entitled "Fools'of Society," •will be shown for tho last time thuj evening. THE NEW THEATRE. _,fs usual, the New Theatre was quit* .filled last evening, when an entirely new programme was presented. Among thq best of the pictures was a clover comedy, drama of the noted "A.8." brand, eh. ' titled "Dan (he Dandy." Dan has ra. ■ tinned from collcgo an absolute' molly: coddle, to the disgust of his irate father, who, to bring out any latent grit his son may have, engages a trami) to taunt him. This individual proves to" Ire a,wealthy:, man disguised, who is in .search of a new sensation, and so ho enters into tho proposal with plenty of spirit, but tho young man is too soft to take iinv ' of. • fence. . Then jealousy is tried. A 'house party is given, and tho pretended tramp' gives all his attention to a. beautifnYj heiress to whom Dan is paving attention.' Dan rises to the bait, but recognises that,'' he is not physically equipped to meet lii»;. rival, so takes a coimc of lessons at o gymnasium. Tho vigorous work ho ie compelled to do makes u man of him, and when next he encounters his tramp-rival the latter knows all about it, and father is satisfied. Other good items include * some excellent pictures of Italian war: < shins now operating apaiust Turkey in ' the Mediterranean. "Paravita" is an • exciting drama with a 'strong- lovo 'inter- i est, and "Silver Wing's Dream" is a pretty bit of wild sentiment from, the j prairies of Western America. Other good! pictures arc "Brown Bewitched," "Par-: don Me." and ''Irresistible Evolution."' Those pictures will bo shown from 11 a.m. ! to 11 p.m. to-day.' ' GOUNOD'S "FAUST." (Tho musical public will probably not willingly miss hearing Mr. Phillip Newbury ill' "Faust" at the Town Hall on Tuesday next. Tho piece is to bo produced by the Wellington Musical. Union, who aro' undoubtedly fortunate in securing Mr. Newbury's services. Tho following complete the cast:—Miss Rita Lyons, Mrs. F. P. Wilson, Messrs. Hamilton Hodges. Hugh .Wright, and'F. W..Lavcock. The Iwx plan is open at the Dresden, where two shilling scats may be »• served. SUNDAY CONCERT. Tho Wellington Professional Orchestra will givo their lust concert for this year at the Opera HauKt to-morrow nights at 8.30. The orchestra, under Mr. H,' Mox--hini, will play "MosauioUo" (AuberJ, "Mignon" (Thomas), Idyll, "Jours Passes (composed by Mr.- A. Home, of the Dresden Piano Co., Christchureh), and Fantasia, "Scenes Bohemian" (Lo Thicre), Misa Rate Davis (soprano) will contribute two items. Mr. Douglas Lillicrap (tenor) and Mr. Len King (comet)' contributing also'. ' A silver coin collection will ho taken at the doors. Tbo concert will commence at 8.30. BAND PERFORMANCE. The Tramways Band will givo a band performance at Newtown Park to-morrow afternoon.
