As Tiik Dominion office telephones will be fully engaged in collecting election returns this evening, no inquiries as to thf st'tl-o of the polls, etc., can be answered. As staled elsewhere, however, all returns received at Tin: Dominion Office will be immediately mado availablo to tho public on The Dominion results board in fron lof .Messrs. Kirkcaldie and Stains' premises in Lamblon Quay.

Oiling to the pressure of election matter during the past fortnight a. number of letters' to the Editor on political and licensing matters have been unavoidably crowded out. Such as still have a bearing on current events will appear within the next day or two.

The ,ntw ten-minute car to Brooklyn will be inaugurated on Monday next. At present, the oars run on a twelve-minute schedule. The time-table has not yet been finally fixed upon for the Cluirlotto Street loop traffic.

The corporation offices and various departments will close at noon to-day on account ot the elections. Tho _ public sclwols iu tho Wellington education district will be closed all day.

All tho Government offices will closc at liooii to-day, except tho I'ost and Telegraph Offices, which will observe the usiiul hours. This applies Ij suburban and other outside offices as well as Ui the General l'ost Office.
