A meeting of supporters of the local lMtoration movement held last night was also attended by a large number of NonS? a !,y ,catcs > th c building being packed iho meeting was addressed bv Mr. Moresby, solicitor, organiser of the liestoratiou League. At tho close of the meeting a resolution in favour of XoLicense. was moved by a No-License leader, but was lost. At this stage the NoLicense ■ portion of tho audience retired, and the following resolution was then put and carried unanimously—That this ineeting endorses, the Mayor's statement that IVaihi has received neither moral nor material benefit under JSVLiceiise; also that it believes the effect of No-License 1 has been pernicious to the welfare of the district, and tends to lower tho morals' of the district liy the encouragement of deceit ami lying. Mr. Jordan, No-License agent, attempted several times to address street andicnoes after the meeting had closed. He was bustled off his stand several times, but eventually got a hearing.
