In reply, Mr. M'Gowen declared that he was ignorant of the modus operandi of these contests, but anything that was tabooed in Great Britain should not be tolerated here. If ho possessed the power to prevent such contests from developing into brutal exhibitions, or anything other than exhibitions of sltill, ho was determined to do it, and tho question of the money element would be considered by Cabinet.
