Mr. Trcwin, one of the adjudicators on tho Masterton pictorial advertisement regarding No-Licence, to-day received the following telegram Grevmouth, 4th December, Trewin, barrister. The Feilding "trade" publish that you were paid for your report. Is everything in (lie report incontrovertible?— Scrivener. Mr. Trcwin sent ihe following reply:— "The statement made by the "trade" was paid for the report is a villainous lie. The report is absolutely incontrovertible. Obtain the names of those responsible for the report that I may take proceedings." A FURTHER MESSAGE. Hammond's statement that some of tho pictures and statements published in the Wellington "Post" on November 2 were false, exception i* taken to the word? "therefore Mr. Hammond wins," 011 the ground "that Mr. M'Manaway, tho challenger, did no! appicve of the appointment of Mr. Trowin as one of tho arbitrators. So far as tho payment of .£•25 is concerned, that matter is outside tho meaning of the telegram, which was that Mr. Hammond was found Vo be correct in all his statements by the two who investigated.
