The carrying of prohibition would be a grwit shock to investors' confidence, which it might not recover for ten years We consider it would be a serious matter if prohioi-tionist-i succeeded h>. stopping the inflow of that capital which is essential to tho prosperous evolution of the Dominion Wo hope we will not have to lecord that New Zealand has decided to take such a disastrous leap in the dark,"
