The -trial is taking place at Los Angeles of tho brothers M'Namara, tho alleged authors of the explosion at the Los Angeles "Times" office, which resulted in loss of life and destruction of tho building. James M'Namara pleaded guilty to the murder of Charles Haggcrty, a machinist, who was killed in the explosion. John M'Namara pleaded guilty to placing dynamite in tho Llewellyn ironworks. (Rec. December 3, 5.5 p.m.) New York, December 2. The: pleas of guilty by the M'Namara brothers has created an immense sensation throughout the United States, and tho Labour organisation which prominently defended the M'Namara's, and the latter' 3 pleas of guilty came as a severe blow to Labour ranks. Tho prosecuting attorney asserts that the M'Namaras did not intend to murder tho Los Angeles "Times" employees. The bomb was of insufficient power to destroy the building, but tho gas explosion started the tiro, and was responsible for causing the deaths. James M'Namara will bo sentenced to life imprisonment, and John M'Namara to 15 years, if the Court agrees. Judgment will be given on Tuesday next. It is stated that further outrages are likely at Los Angeles, due to the ill-feeling aroused by tho trial.
