9 j. DISPLAY AT NEWTOWN PARK. A No-Liconso anil Prohibition domonfstrnlion was hold on Saturday afternoon, and went off very successfully. Tho programme was a procession from Peathorfcton Street to Newtown Park, and a score of speeches to tin; assembled multitude. The procession, which was marshalled h.v Major C. J), Mackintosh, with Messrs. -Millar, I'aton, Pearson, Ninuno, St rons», iferron, Ninuno, jun., and Graham us sub-marshals, included contingents from a largo number of churches, .Sunday schools, tho Salvation Army, Bands of Done, Jtechabites, Good Templars, Kens and Daughters of Tcniperonro, V.W.C.A., VM.C.A., W.CT.U., Hoys' Institute, „ n ,i Minimis' Prohibition Louguo. Therewere •I! vehicles, mosljy expresses and lorriesloaded chiefly with children. A largo number of people wont afoot. Banner* and mottoes wero frcelv disnlnycd, anu tho names of the "dry' districts, with tho dales when they were won for No-License, were shown on largo white shields. Tho Students' League contributed three tabeanx, in which red noses, ragged clothes, Mottles, and other "properties" wero displayed with a view to suggesting the evils of over-indulgence in liquor. Marehin" music was provided by the Central Mission Silver Hand, tho Salvation • Armv Baud, and .1 imp's Band. The children saiuj appropriate sougs. No untoward occurrences marred tho (Proceedings. Tho weather was stini.v, there was no counter-demonstration or noticeable hostility along the route. The' procession, according to one estimate, numbered about 21)00 souls.
