WELLINGTON SUBURBS. Mr. J. P. Luke, the Government candidate tor Wellington Suburbs, addicsswl a large meeting of tho electors at the Church Hall, Maranui, last night, Mr. W. H. Morrah being elected to'tho chair. Mr. Luke, among other questions, dealt with the ■ operation's of tho Advartccs to Workers' Act. Referring to the question of the I,.LP. tenure, he said that tenants to the ntimlier of 3600 occupied areas totalling '663,000 acres, with an nn r nual rental chnrgcof X 191,000. A. la'gc number -of these leaser had changed hands, and the added vaiuo had gono into tho pockols of tho original selector. A hearty voto of thanks and confidence was carried, on the motion of M.r. .I. P. Koran, secondod by Mr. S. Bruce.
Mr. F. T. Moore, labour candidate for tho miburbs seat, addressed a meeting at Seatoun Inst night:- - Mr. Camptell occupied the chilir. Tho candidate said that when Labour's programme of nationalisation of monopolies and other things was oonipletc, no taxation ever would bo levied upon anybody. Tho rents from-Crown lands and the profits to bo derived from - Stato-owned mdustrios and-from mercantile and .financial Departments would cam all tire revenue the country required. ' The spirit of nationalism that Labour sought.; to inculcate was lofty and noblo and - would make nations r«illy great. A vote of thanks and. confidence 1 was carried unanimously on tho motion of Mr. M'Kenzie seconded by Mr. Davidson.^
