Squadron, were temporarily dotached in view of possible developments. NO BRITISH TROOPS FOR CHINA. (Rec. December 1, 11 p.m.) London, December 1. Tho Government has consulted Sir J. N. Jordan, Envoy Extraordinary to China, and as a result has dccided not to land troops in China. It is announced that Britain, Japan, and the United States have arranged to act in close consultation with reference to concerted mediation in China when tho opportunity arises.
