» LEGISLATION IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Bj Telerrarh—Preas Awdation-Copjrrlirht " '' ' Sydney, ficcember 'l.' In the Legislative Assembly,. the Government has introduced an Incomo Trs Bill. The proposals provide for payment by a company of Is. 2d. in the £ on income chargeable; and by a person where the income chargeable does not exceed .£7OO, Gd. in the .CI, and in addition one-third in the case of an absentee, and an additional or further addition of one-third on such of the income, as is derived from produce of property by a person whoso incomo chargcable exceeds .£7OO. All in receipt of over £700 and under " £1700 shall pay Gd. in the .£1; over £1700 and under £2700, Bd.; under £470,0, 9d.; under £6700, 10d.; under £9700, lid.; over £9700, la. All Trill carry an additional third for an absentee, and an additional or further additional third for such of tho income as is derived from produce of property. There will be an exertion exemption and a further exemption of £50 for each child under sixteen years dependent on the taxpayer. Mr. Wade, Leader of tho Opposition, opposed the Bill on the ground that taxation always passed to tho 6tnall man. ! The Bill was read a first time,
