The mino manager reports progress for the past week at the Beach Ijevel as follow:—The contractors have extended the drive a further distance of 30 feet, making a total distance of 2876 feet, and 17 sets of timber were put in. Driving in the face was delayed for a time, owing to boiler inspection and timbering up the drive. The country still continues to look well, and two or three nice-looking leaders were cut, from three to six inches in width, carrying somo favourable minerals, but no gold visible. Thero is still a big flow of water coming. The water i:i the wiiui is sinkin-r slowly, there being still a few feet in' die bottom. I hope' to make a start on Monday with two men to clean up the drive in the upper level, and timber tile winze where required.
