Major T. W. M'Donald, Officer Commanding the New Zealand Junior Cadet Corps, who is leaving (or Sydney to-day, en route to England for a cour.se of training in the Imperial Forces, was farowolled by a. number of friends at Godbcr's Koonis, Cuba Street, last evening. Colonel A. W. Kobht. C.8., Adjutant-General of the New Zealand Forces, presided over an attendance of about fifty, representing various Government Departments, those present iuohuling Sir E. 0. Gibbss (SecreUrr for Education), Mr. W. Joliffo (Crown Law Office), Major ,1. K Hume, 8.N.Z.A.. Messrs. T. I{. Fleming, F. H. Bakowelt and W. T. Grundy (the Education Board's inspectors), Majors V. Bethuno and F. A. Hompleman (Wellington City Junior Cadets), Major I). M. Polsoa' (Senior Cadets), Captain Post (s.s. Tutanekaij, Major A. A. Corrigan (Fifth Regiment), Captain Keenan (Wellington Engineers;, Captain Tlcwat, and Mr. ?oter Hcyes. The function was u very successful one. The toa,sts of the evening < were: "The Guest" (proposed by Colonel liobin and Major Eempleman, and responded to bv Captain Stevens); "The. Junior Cadets'' (proposed by Mr. W. Joliffo, and responded to by Captain A. C. C. Stevens): and "Tho Performers" (proposed by Sir E. 0. Gibbes, and responded to by Mr. D. Kenny). During the evening items were contributed by Messrs. D.
