* . ON THE HAND. There, is still quite a colony of New Zealandcrs on the Hand, Die greater number of whom made their acquaintance with the Dark Continent through the Boer War. Visiting Wellington at the present timo is .Mr. J. Erasmus, a member of the executive of the New Zealand Association, which has its headquarters at Johannesburg, and which keeps more or less in touch with New Zealand nffairs. The association, which was inaugurated soon alter the war, has now about 150 members. Jl celebrates Dominion Day annually by holding a banquet, and holds at least two smoke concerts a year, at which news from, and reminiscences of the Dominion form the basis of social communion.
