At tho Police Court at Mackay further evidence was heard in the caso against George Silva, the Cingalese, who is charged with the murder, near Alligator Creek, of Agnes Chicg (the white wife of a Chinese farmer) and her live children. Dctcctivo Head stated that !>.o had ccnfronted Dooley Khan, the Hindu farmer mentioned by Silva, and asked him about SilvaV ataiciiioiit concerning the •,&> -jug. Boole:. Khan had replied that ho whs at a neighbour's placo at tho time the shooting took place. Butler, tho whits man mentioned by licensed as being in tho conspiracy to kill the Ching family, also denied knowledge of any conspiracy. Chiug, husband of tho murdered woman and father of the children, denied th.it there had been anv suggestion of marriages between the Hindu and accused and two of his children. When witness wanted to search the house after his return from Blane Creek on tho day 0 f tho murder, accused tried to prevent him from doing so. Tiic lYither hearing of the case was adjourned.
