I Of twelve thousand mistresses and servants who assembled at the Albert Hall at the invitation of the Countess Desart to discuss tho Insuranco Bill, ten thousand failed to gain admission. Countess Desart presided, and the Countesses Brassoy, Mayo, and Portsmouth, and Mrs. Humphrey Ward were present. Tho meeting was lively, and choruses and "Rule Britannia" were sung. Mr. Lloyd-George was hissed. Tho speakers, iueluding Mr. Hilaro Belloc, denounced the Bill. There were some dissentients, but it was resolved by an overwhelming majority that if tho domestic service clauses were passed, to organiso the country to resist same. Tho executive, who were responsible for convening tho mooting, withdrew at the last moment owing to Mr. Lloyd-George's amendments giving domestic servants the choice of benefits.
