A REPLY. Tho following letter appeared in tin "Wairarapa Daily Times' of yesterday:—. [To tho Editor.] Sir, —I have read the statement uu. porting to havo been mode by Messrs. Trewin and Mlntyre, and which appeared in the columns of your contemporary laia morning. 1 have liivcstlgate/Hhcir statements bv examining the ongijial photos, and bv referring to the books oi tlio photographer, and I find as follows:- _ Tho first referred to evidently is Little « Garage. One part of the building was occupied as a garage and auother part by, at onc'timts a baker's shop, and at auother bv a saddler, distinctly two shops. Centra! Hotel,—Tho photo, referred to ''•" hotel onlv, and the shops could not havo been left out, , Longs Meat was empty, and still is. jilo Chambers.-Tlwy stale heso i.. . never been empty. Tho photo, shows a card in the window hearing this legendi "To Let. Applv E. Waddinglon." Tho bottles were photographed on or about: August 7, 1911. A similar pile collectcd since then can be seen to-day. In addition io the empty business premises photographed, the following is a list of others now vacant:— Sonoma Doardinghou*e, Pine fctrcct, Nieliol's Auction Mart. Bannister htroet, Maclean's Auction Mori, JVir.v Street. Mrs, Aihms funey goods. Queen StreetDominion Cafe, Queen street. Pauling, tailor, Crimen Street. Grocer's shop, Pine Street.
