KARORI COUNCIL.

-} The fort nightly mooting of tho Knrori Borotigh Cniincii was held last evening. Present: The Mayor (.Mr. C. Cathie), ami (.'otinr.illors llildieth, Hi'.'idnork, IrVofl, Tlamillon. Standen, Horn, Ximino, Amlerson, and Burn. .V letter was received from the UnderSecretary of Internal Affairs, stating that tho matter of prazetting the award nf the commissioner appointed to hold an inquiry and make a, report respecting the adjustment of property, liabilities, etc., between tho council and the city of Wellington was still under consideration. The following recommendations of the Works and Recreation Ground Committee were adopted:—(!) That the borough engineer accept: the offer of tho City Council to dispose of tho stock remaining over from the tramway const rue! inn work: ('.!) that the application of the Karori Amateur Athletic Club for the use of the sports ground on November 29 bo granted; t'3) that two councillors be authorised to ligu the contract for the erection of tho tea-rooms, and that tho seal of the council be attached. The engineer, in the course of his report, slated that: the cutting in Wallace Street to connect up the Kvelyn Kstate was progressing, and should be completed about Christmas. A start had been made With the wall on the boundary of the Recreation Ground. The larring of the tram track had been delayed owing to the non-arrival of the tar-boiler from the city. It: was, however, expected to commenco the work very shortly. The erection of the lea-rooms on (ho Recreation Ground would be comtuenccd this week. . Councillor Bildreth moved:—"That the resolution passed 011 November 14, 1911, adopting the Valuation Committee's report re the.revaluation of tho borough for the year l!)li, be rescinded." The motion was discussed nt some length, but was eventually lost. Councillor Hildreth moved, and it was carried:—"That ;i committee, consisting of Councillors Home, Hamilton, Standen, and ITildrctli, be set up to consult the G'ity Tramways Committee with reference to the report now being prepared by the City Council on (he proposed shorter tramway route to Karori." It was resolved, 011 the motion of Councillor Standen, that before any action is taken in l-espect to the revaluation of the borough, a report be brought up V,' the Finance Committee and, Councillor Hamilton as to how it is proposed to administer ..the. affairs of the, borough after such. re-, valuation is made. The motion .was seconded by Councillor Hildreth, but was lost.
