The nomination of Los Angeles in the Mauawatu Cup may mean that the chestnut will be at Awapuni and not at Kllerslic. Another of Messrs. Stead's in Culprit, is'nominated for the Manawatu meeting. Acceptances for the first day's events at 'the Woodvillo Jockey Club's meeting close at 8 o'clock to-night with the club's secretary, Mr. E. J. Gothard. When Hoanga won the steeplechase at Caultield on November IS,, he established a new record for the course, "about two miles." The New Zealand horse was ridden by the Auckland jockey, V. Howard.
