That the expenses incurred by a teacher traii'ferrod from one school to another at the instamv of an education board be defrayed by buch board.—(Tnraimki.) Thai, the expenses incurred by a teacher conipukorily transferred froni ono school to another lie paid by the, Education Department or Hoard.—(Wellington.) That the clause formerly in the reflations under the Education Act of IS7", declaring the Minister's decision upon nil disputed points in the regulations to be binding upon all to whom it is communicated, should, be reinstated in the present regulations.—(Auckland.) That tho centralisation of the inspectorate is urgently needed.—(Auckland.)

That the Minister for Education bo again urged to consider a Dominion scale of sick way.—(North Canterbury.) That the Minister for Education bo asked to introduce a. Dominion promotion scheme.—(Taranaki.) That for tlio present the institute should not press on a Dominion classifi.catiqn and promotion scheme until tho matter has been more maturely considored by teachers throughout tlio Dominion. Meanwhile, 'that a committee should bo.set up to consider whether better results might not be obtained moro easily by reforms in other directions: as, for instance, by reducing Hie number of education boards and by. increasing tho area governed by aine or all of thoso remaining; and by placing appointments entirely iu the bauds o£" Board?.—(Wellington.) That tho institute again repeats its request for legislation providing fer the promotion of teachers on a definite plan, embodying the principles (a) to (b), accepted' bv tho institute at its meeting iu 1008. —(Auckland.) That owing to tho important naturo of the work, the salaries of assistants in secondary departments of district high schools thould be increased.—(Taranaki).

That tho institute take, into consideration schemes for providing general reading matter for public school children by adopting or mo'difying the methods applied to tho pnrnosc in other countries, as, for exa,mplo, in"tho United States.—{Wellington.) * That tho syllabus for needlework for I Class D be nine clwi.rly defined, and also that i ho usefulness of the sewing macMno be lvcognised.
