SECURES DAMAGES FOR LIBEL. By Telcrraph—Press Association—OoßTritrM London, November 22. Sir J. 'B. Robinson, tho South African minc-oivner and financier, has recovered JCIOOO damages from Mr. Louis Cohen, author of the book "Rominisconces of Kimborley," and .£IOO from Mr. BoDnett, publisher of the book, which alleged that plaintiff's early career was that of a fraudulent dealer, swindler, and coward. Sir J. B.,Robinson, in his evidence, said ho lost his hearing through exposure on Basil to battlefields. Ho had contributed ono hundred thousand pounds to assist tho British in tho war against the Boors, and eighty thousand pounds after the restoration of peace. Ho denied Mr. Cohen's allegations. Cohen, in his ovideuco, said that Robinson's reputation in South Africa was that of a liar and coward, a betrayer of women, and an illicit diamond buyer.
