Mr. Poarce. Reform candidate for Paten, addressed ,n well-attended meeting at Manutahi ou Saturday night, receiving on attentive and appreciative- hearing. A vote of thanks and .confidence was moved by 3lr. C.. Tonks, and seconded by Mr. Ronnil. An amendment that a vnto of thanks only bo tendered the sneaker was proposed by a visitor from Mokoia. On a show of hands being taken, the amendment was defeated by nn overwhelming majority, only six supporting it. The resolution was then put and carried with cheers.
