TRADE IN ALLEN STREET. Vegetables.—The market is heavily supplied with new potatoes, the hulk' coming to hand is from tho Auckland district. Supplies are also coming in from, Otaki and the llutt. Supplies of green peas arc arriving almost daily from Nelson and Otaki, the latter being most popular with buyers. Cauliflowers are in- heavy supply, the prices ruling now being 4g.. to 6s. per sack. Cabbages are also in plentiful supply, and are selling at 2s. M. to ss. per sack, according .to quality.. . Carrots are in strong demand, new tabic carrots bringing 6s. to Bs. per sack. The supply of white turnips .is in excess of tho demand, and sales.are being made at Is. 6d. to 25.. per sack. Fruit.—The Manuka, is due from Sydney to-day with the usual weekly shipment of oranges, mandarines, lemons, etc. Hothouse grown tomatoes are coming in from Nelson. Auckland, and the Hutt, and prices have eased somewhat. The first of the locally-grown cherries has reached the market, and realised extreme rates.

Onions.—Californian arc now quoted at 14s. to 15s. per cwt. New season's Austra*lian will be available in about a couple of weeks; Old potatoes are in heavy supply, and Sc>lc3 are being made at 4Ce. to 60s per ton. Kice Hour is in fair demand at £5 15s. per ton. . Bran is in rather short supply, and sales aro being made at £6 to £6 ss. per ton. Pollard.is without alteration at £6 ss. to £6 10s. per ton. Flour.—New Zealand. is quoted at £9.55. 6d. per ton. ex store Wellington. Holler] oals meet with a stendy demand at 9s. 6d. to 10s. per doz. 41b. bags. Oatmeal continues at £15 per ton. Oats..—"A" grade Cartons is selling at 3s. Bd. to- 3s. 9d. per. bushel, with "B" grade a halfpenny less. ' ;Fowls' - Wheat.—The market continues firm, the current quotation being 4s. sd. to 4?. hi. per bushel. Maize.—Seed varieties are quoted at 6s. Jd. to 6s. fid. r.er bushel, while feed maize is selling at, 3s. lOd. to 33. lid. . Cape barley is slow of sale at 3s. 6d. Feed barley; is quoted at 3s. 3d. to 3s. 4d. Forty-two thousand bales have been sent to manufacturers at Home and abroad, leaving available for sale 128,c00 bales.
