SHOW FINANCE GOOD. (By Telegraph— Special Correspondent.! Palmerston N., November 21. The monthly mooting of the Manawatu A. and J\ Association was hold 10-day, Mr. A. Conway presiding. A statement of the finances of the last spring show revealed a. decidedly satisfactory state of affairs. Receipts totalled ,E273(1 0?. 2d., and expenditure "JC2133 12s. ad., leaving a credit of UJGO2 7=. lid. The Tosult, it was felt, reflected credit on the work of tho secretary (Mr. Penny) and lie was accordingly congratulated on the success of liis first show. Tho Ground and tho Military, Tho Defouco Department wroto agreeing to lease the showground for military purposes at. ,El,ao per annum. It was decided, after • discussion, to adopt, the recommendations of the Finance Committee on the siibjecl which provides for the rent specified, subject to the following conditions:—(l) That tho agreement bo of only twelve months' duration; (2) that the terms of tho lease do not include the annual military tournament; (.1) that the Defence Department be responsible for all damage, fair wear and tear excepted; (1) that, after holding, a. camp, the grounds shall bo restored to their former condition; (5) that the commitments of , the. association, in regard to sports events, must be respected; (G) that, if the insuranco risks are increased, tho extra charges must be paid by the lessees.^ During the discussion it was. admitted that the holding of camps in Falmorston .North would be of great benefit to the town. •' ; ' ' ' Pig Exhibitors Protest.
