A FEARFUL TRAGEDY.
1 IN QUEENSLAND. .WIFE AND FIVE CHILDREN HUIfDEKED. By Tolcsraph-Pross Association—OooyrteM Brisbane, November 20. A fearful tragedy occurred near Alligator Creek, between Mackny and Blum: Creek, somo timo on Friday, tho whito wife of a Chineso farmer named Ching rind her family of five children being murdered. Cliing went to Blano Creek on business, and on returning found the bodies of his wife, his daughter Maud (aged 17), boy of 5 years, and a baby girl together iu tho sitting-room. A search revealed the bodies of tho other children—Teddy, aged 10, and Dolly, aged S, three-quarters of a milo from tho house. It is supposed they were seen returning from school by tho murderer, and enticed away and shot. Their school bags wero found on tho kitchen table. Ching states that ho left a Cingalese, evidently a servant, at home when ho went to the township. On returning, ho found the house locked, and thought tho family was visiting a neighbour. Ho had tea with tho Cingalese in tho kitchen, which is separated from the house, Slid then went to the neighbour's place. Failing to find the family there ho becamo alarmed, returned, and searched thn house with tho Cingalese, when ho mado the terrible discovery. When he tried to communicate with tho town he found that tho telephono wires had been cut, probably by tho murderer. The police expect to maka an arrest.
