THE WEATHER.
SUMAIARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for strong westerly winds, veering to southerlies shortly in most parts of the country. Cloudy and unsettled weather is probable at times in all parts, and heavy showers, especially on the West Coast and southern districts. The barometer is very unsteady, and a slight fall will probably precedc a steady rise generally. The westerly winds which liavo been both persistent and strong during the past three weeks still continue. Districts with a westerly aspect; and in the muthcrn parts, have experienced considerable rainfall, but warm and dry conditions, except for occasional thunderstorms, havo ruled elsewhere. D. C. BATES. Meteorological Office, Wellington, November, 21, 1911.
