MOTOR-CYCLE SPORTS.
Tho New Zealand Motor Cycle Club's opening run to Day's Bay was hold on Saturday afternoon, and proved a most enjoyable outing. Members and friends left by motor, and some by boat, for the Bay shortly after 2 p.m. On arrival, an interesting programme of motor sports was held on the Hockey Ground. Following were the winners of prizes:—Ladies' Kace: Jlifs Bender. Potato ltace: Miss Bender. King Tilting (sido ear): Miss Stanbridge (driven by L. If. Barber). King Tilting (solol: H. Irvine. Belt and Bun Kace: Mr. Lawrence. .After (lie sports tea was served in the pavilion, and 70 were seated at the.tables. The prizes won during the afternoon were presented by Mrs. E. W. Daniel, as also was tho Atkins Cup, won by Mr. R. S. Bender in the recent twelve-hour schedule run to Palmerston North and back. The president of tho club, Mr. E. W. Daniel, occupied the chair. Messrs. Lawrence, Daniel, and Nimmo acted as judges of the events during the afternoon. ■
