Tho third series of district championship matches under tho Auckland Cricket Association, played yesterday in excellent weather, and on batsmen's wickets, produced good score?. In tho senior games not ono innings was com;>lcl*d. Ponsonby, playing Parneii, scored 319 for five wickets—(N. C. Sneddon 135, J. G. Thompson 82, and F. Wilson (7, not out). Against North. Shoro, the 'Vnrsitv team scored 333 for eight wickets—Ellis 120, Airey 50, and Gray 31. Eden made 252 for nine wickets against Grafton—Brookes Smith 55, and Cuinluings 29. Christchurch, November 18. Beautiful weather prevailed for Hie third round of grade crickct, and, with fast wickets, scoring all round was heavy. East ChrihtchuiTli, by a magnificent not out innings of 173 by W. Carlton, put up the bis total of 422 for five, wickets against West Christchurch—Sims 7G. lii'xstiall '19 not out, Grant 40, and T. Caritoa 41, batted well. St. Albans played a'fairly even caino with Linwood. The last-mentioned put up 235, towards which I'errin played a solid innings for 59, Orchard 5(1. and Winchester (another coh),: 15. St. Albans at the call of time had scored 53 fur four wickets. Sydenham batted first neninst Riecarton, and, chiefly through a good ii.uings of SG by Hayes, made a total of 2fii. Tlic-c-arton have lost three wickets for 50.
