Dr. Friedrich Schoue, of Berlin, who is at present in Auckland, states that the nlleged naval incident at Fij;, mentioned in the cable messages, is without any foundation. He was a guest on the Cormoran during that vessel's cruise among the islands, and when she visited Suva ho states that tho relations between the commander and captain of H.M.S. Prometheus, which was at Suva at tho same time, wore of the most friendly character, and that no request to dispatch cable messages was either made or refused.
