DROWING ACCIDENT.

' MAX LOST AT PAREMATA. An accident bv tvliich a young man named Antonio J'errctti was drowned occurred nt I'aremnta yesterdav morning. Forrctti and R. Pezina loft Mana Island in a sailing boat for Parcmata, but their craft was- capsized on the bar. They had tho jib set, and a sudden gust of wind catching it, upset the boat. At the time thero was a heavy swell running. and this made rescno work difficult. The men hung to tho boat, and a rescue party pulled out to their assistance, but they could not get near. Ferrctti attempted to swim to the rescue boat, but sunk and was drowned. Pezina remained clinging to tho capsized craft, and was eventually lescuol by a Party in a motor boat. The would-bo rescuers who rowed to render assistance wcro Messrs. Jamos Andrews, fishermau; Joseph Buckland and M. Sarich, labourers; and Bert. Aldridgc. an employee of Messrs. T. Ballinger and Co. Ferrctti was a labourer, 23 years of ago. He was employed by Mr. Andrew Veller. Pezina, too, is a labourer. Ho is 25 years of age. There were many people on the Parcmata Ijeach at the time, and all were witnesses of tbo accident.
