Wellington after a long stay with' relatives in Auckland. Although a nonagenarian, Mr. Taine is still hale and hearty, and was seen taking a brisk walk along Salamanca Road on Saturday afternoon. Mr. Frank Bolt, of Wellington, who has been appointed district manager for the Government Lifo Insurance Department, received a presentation from the officers of tho Wellington District branch and travelling agents on Friday. Tomorrow (Tuesday), forenoon, Mr. Millar will lay tlie foundation stone of the first of tho workers' dwellings to be erected under tho provisions of the Workers' Dwellings Act of last session. Tho Minister is to return to Duncdin by tho second express ou Tuesday. The Hon. J. E. Jo,nkinson, M.L.C., returned from the south yesterday morning by I lie Maori. Tho death occurred yesterday at midday, at her residence, llawkestone Street, of Mrs. Mahoney, formerly of the West Coast.
