THE LINCOLN COLLEGE IMPORTS. Particulars to hand ! from the. south reenrding the pedigree stock-ten sheep and a bull—imported from England in the Kemuera, for Lincoln College indicate that tho sheep include Border Loicesters from the fiock of Mr. Jeffries, of Duchrae, who gained tho highest price at the Border sale at Home; Shropshires from tho flock of Mr. Minton, of Montford ; and Sourhdoivns from tho estato of tho Into Colonel M'Calmont, Ivewinarket. Tho bull is nu 16-month-old dark red Shorthorn, Broadhoolss Stamp, sire Special Stomp, 100,731, dam Broadhooks Beauty. Ho was selected for tho Department by Mr. J. 8. Gordon, Chief Inspector of the. Department of Agriculture, Ireland. Ihe new arrival's dam sold for 100 guineas at the dispersal salo of the lato Sir Hugh Sihiley's herd. Tracing his ancestry back ho is found to combine-' . a fashionable pedigree-with a good milking strain. He was bred by the Eight Hon. Frederick Wrench, Kilacoona, Ballybruck, Dublin, who, according to the "Press," is an ardent believer iu genoral purposo breeds, nnd while he purchases only t.he most fashionably-bred cattle, no coir is kept in his herd : that could not go into a dairy herd.' The Wrench herd is recognised as one of tho best in the United Kingdom, nnd young bulls from the herd have been Bold at-long prices for exportation, and fbr.bnlls in neighbouring herds.
