ENROL.
IT WILL SOON BE TOO LATE. THE WEITS. As things now stand it is highly probable that the enrolment of electors will cease on Monday at 6 p.m. The law profides that all rolls shall be closed at six o'clock in tho evening tho day. upon which tho-writs are issued, and it is likely that thev will bo issued on Monday. It will bo first of all necessary that tho Governor.'shall dissolve Parliament, for its term does not expire by efl'luxion of time until Tuesday, November.2l. The procedure laid down is that the Governor shall, within ten days of dissolving Parliament, notify the Clerk of the Writs, ind issue a warrant authorising that official t» issue the writs. This he must do within three days of being notified. Both periods can be cut down at discretion to a minimum, and will be cut down upon this occasion. Tho Clerk of tho Writs (Mr. H. Pollen, Under-Secretaij for Internal Affairs), on . Being questioned last evening, was unablo to say definitely when tho writs would issue,, but stated that, in all probability thoy would bo sent out on Monday or Tuesday. Tho provision making six o'clock p.m. on the day of issuing the writs, tho final hour for the nnrolment of electors is contained in a late amendment of tho eloctoTal law. Previously it directed that no electors' should be,.enrolled after tho day upon which tho writs were issued. Now, hownver, all enrolment forma must be in tho bands of tho registrars at G p.m. Any form posted and delivered to the registrars after that hour will be rejected.
