A practice which is followed at Iho Arte Club is to change as often as possible the pictures exhibited upon its walls, little difficulty being experienced in obtaining the Joan of works lor this purpose. Two that have been recently lent to the club have been paiutoil by Miss Annie Taylor lilackc, who began her artistic career in New Zealand, but is now in England, and is an exhibitor at various exhibitions. Both arc nf tho modern impressionistic school, and are typical of tho artisfe direct method of treatment and hex technique.
A garden party and caloof work in com section with the Missionary Settlement for university women at Bombay has been arranged by the mercbers of the \ ictoria College nianch, and takes place tiiis afternoon at 3 o'clock in tho Weilington Gitls" College grounds. The mem bers of tho Settlement are all graduates, and it aflords a homo to tho girl studenta of Bombay. The special work of the settlers lies among tho highly-tdu-catod I'arsoo girls and women, and the president of the settlement is Canon Stuart, the leader of the Anglican Mission of 1910. Victoria College is represented at. it by Miss Winnie Griffiths, D.A, who hae boon for five years in India.
Nurses Temple-Brown and Gufiie have resigned their positions on the Wellington Hospital staff. Nurse Lloyd has been appointed acting-sister for three months, and Nurses ll'Both, Gilmer, Price, Henderson, Ferguson, and Jackeon have been recommended by the Hospital Committee for appointment as charge nurses.
At St. Andrew's Church, tho wedding took place of Miss Elizabeth Graco Reid, socond daughter of Mr. Reid, of the Main Trunk, and Mr. Frank Hillicr, of Takapau, the Itev. Mr. Lewis, of New Plymouth, officiating. Tho bride wore a handsoino dress of white chiffon taffetas, with a veil and wreath of orange blossoms. She was attended by her eister, Miss Agnes Reid, who woro a grey ninon frock and largo black hat with plumes, and Miss Rosina Hillicr (sister of the bridegroom), in a whito silk frock and hat to match. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. W. Reid, and Mr. F. 11. Papperill, of Napier, was the best man.
