SIB EDWARD GREY TO MAKE A STATEMENT. TOREIGN OFFICE INDICTED. ." BUREAUCRATIC AND ANTIGERMAN. t 15j Teleeraph—Press Addition— Oopyrisht , (Rec. November 16, 9.30 p.m.) ' London, November 18. ■In tho House of Commons Mr. C. S. fjoldman inquired for further light on Herr Von Bethmann-Hollwcg's statement regarding Mr. Lloyd-George's speech and the Ecquol.

[Mr. H. H. Asquith replied that the question covered so many matters of gravity and ilolicacy that Sir Edward, Grey (Foreign Minister) would make n full statement in the course of tho debate next week.

/ Tho "Star" emphasises Mr. A. Ponsonty's (member foi Stirling Burghs) statement, and argues that Lord Selbourno was quite right in asking for definite information. It declares that the Foreign Otiice should be compelled to lay all tho cards on the table, and supports Mr. Noel Buxton's and Mr. P. W. Jowett's proposal for tho establishment of a Foreign Affairs pommitteo, and contends that tho permanent officials who run the Foreign Office largely run Sir Edward Grey. It adds that the Foreign Office hurcaucracy is anti-German, pro-Russian, and antiNationalist, ■ and is also opposing Persian and Turkish renascence. Unless Sir Edward Grey is prepared to democratise tho Foreign Office, tho country must find somebody e'.so who can.
