THE WEUJXGTOX CEXTIiE. The report presented at tho annual meeting of the Wellington Centre of tho Now Zealand Swimming Association congratulated tho centre on tho success of last season's operations, and, in particular, about the success pf tho championship meeting held in Wellington. The balance-sheet showed that assets exceeded liabilities .by X 55 17s. 2d. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. 'J'. Kona.vne; vice-president, .Mr. Georse t'owlds; chairman, .Mr. J. P. Atkins; .lion, secretary, .Mr. IL (.'. ~\Y. Blick; recording secretnry, Mr. li. Unkorj handicapper, Mr. ]\ Wilton ; consul, llr. T. Shields; polo referees, Messrs. 0. Sndd, A. A. Homcrvillc, and A. \V. Smith; auditor, Jlr. .1. lion, treasurer, Mr. U. A\\ Kirkwood. An applicalion by the Worser Bay Club t« hold ii carnival- on Jamiarj - 22 was referred to tho incoming committee. The question of allotting carnival dates to the city clubs was deferred. Officials'to supervise tlio opening of the season on Saturday next wcro appointed as follow:—Starter, Mr. A. W. Smith; judges, Messrs. li. S. Hill. T. Shields, and .f. V, Atkins; check starter, Mr. \\. 3. O'Menra; timekeepers, Messrs. I'. ATilton and A. A. Somerville. ,
