ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
CAUGHT-IN AN ECCENTRIC. BROTHER'S EFFORT FOR BROTHER. (By Telegraph—Press- Association.) . Blenheim, November 15. Herbert Horne, engaged in looking aftet a Tangyo engine used for .working, tho shearing-machines. at the Marlborough show to-dny, had his clothing caught in tho eccentric of tho timing shnit, and was drawn round the shaft. All his clothing was torn off him, except his boots. His arm was broken, and thcro were severe lacerations.
His brother 1/eonard went to rescue him, and was also caught. His arm wns badly broken in two places. Both were taken to the hospital.
SHOCKING RAILWAY FATALITY. . Auckland, November 15. . A shocking accident occurred yesterday afternoon at Luke Road Railway Station, between To Awamutu and Oliaupo, resulting in the' almost instantaneous death of Jack Burke, a young and highly-respected settler, residing at. Kiokio; a. few miles from To Awamutu. Deceased was returning homo by train from tho Ohaupo entile sale, and was breaking the journey at Lake Road Station.
Before the train hud fully pulled up the deceased jumped on to tho plnUorm, and was thrown under fhe carriage and killed.
The victim leaves a young widow, married about eighteen months ago, and a child two months old. His relatives aro well known in the Taranaki district.
