BAD BARS AND WEATHER, Thero were signs on Tuesday of the weather moderating at Westport and Grevmontn, and in fact it did moderate a little, but later news states that it is again as bad as ever. Yesterday morning there were no movements outward or inward over the bar at Oreymouth. The Arahura managed to get into CJrcymoutli on Tuesday afternoon, and it wa.s hoped to dispatch her yesterday for Westport. ,m the return journey. Sko has crossed the Atlantic four times, and to accomplish that feat had to steam more than IZ.KfI miles, equivalent to a continuous daily run of 400 miles, but, a« a matter of fact, at a much greater speed when the stoppages at each terminus are deducted. Of course, it was not mere idle steaming, for the Lusitania within tlwo four trips embarked and disembarked 'tm passengers, loaded and consumed 25,000 tons .of coal, besides largo quantities of provisions, stores, and miscellaneous cargo. FROM SYDNEY-TOE BOAT LATE. At ten minutes past nine last evening the Warrimoo, from Sydney direct, berthed at the Queens Wharf. Upon berthing, the Port Health Officer, Customs officials, and mail officials boarded the vessel. An hour later the doctor cleared the vessel, and the passengers then landed. The vessel left Sydney at 3.30 p.m. on Saturday, and experienced southerly winds until Sunday morning. At noon on Sunday the Warrimoo passed thu ship Blenheim, bound from Dunedin to Newcastle. Heavy westerly winds with big following «cas were experienced on Monday, and continued until arrival. The vessel sighted a barque, bound oast, in Cook Strait last evening. Although these weather conditions, which really favoured speed, prevailed throughout the voyage, the vessel nevertheless made a very slow passage. She has about 760 tons of cargo to put out here, this including a large quantity of fruit. The vessel brought the following imports :—926 packages tea, 150 flitches pork, 205 cases whisky, 75 cases tobacco, 656 cases soap, 401 bags ricemcal, 717 felloes, 50 bundles wire, 102 bundles tiles, 285 ingots tin, 90 bags tapioca, 95 sacks peanuts, 80 bags hemp seed. 57 bales bottles, 20 cases schnapps, 330 oases sugar, 200 cases lard. 27 cases ina.rga.rinc, 50(1 arch firebricks, 222 bags rice, 3CO bags manure, 500 bags flour, £0 bags wax. 19 bags shoil grit, 80 cases salt, 118 bags sago, 60 coses, oil, 184 caeee

Tho new steamer Tndrapura will commence loading at London early next month under the auspices of the Tyser Line for Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand ports. The vessel, which was only recently launched, is said to be similar in many ways to the Indrabarah. Captain Hollingeworth will have command. The repairs rendered necessary to the Union Company's island steamer Taviuni, as the result of the collision with tho French mail steamer Nora., are now practically completed. The vessel was to have left for Samoa yesterday. On Sunday last, tho Maoriland Steam Shipping Company's steamer Lauderdale arrived at Molbourno from Hokianga. On November 5. tho steamer Clan Mem zies arrived at Calais from Australian ports. Tho Kiripaka was sheltering in the Sounds on Tuesday evening. To-morrow morning the Knnna is to arrive from Newcastle, via Nnni-er. The Government training steamer Amokura arrived at Half Moon Bay (Stewart Island) ymterdny, and is to sail to-dnv for tho Southern Islands. The vessel will be away for about four weeks. The Scales chartered steamer Clan Rocn left last night for Pict»n. Mr. T. Bain signed on tho Maori as second engineer at Wellington yesterday. Tho New Zealand Shlnplng Comnany'fi uow steamer Hurunui is timed to sail from London en January 8 for Auckland and Wellington. She should arrive at Auckland on February 23. Navua. Fiji steamer, is to leave for Westport this afternoon, sailing for Auckland direct. During October. 60.693 tons of coal were exported from Grcymonth, and of this amount 8180 tons went, to foreign ports. The export of timber ran into 320,207 superficial feet.
