KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The fortnightly meeting of the Earori Borough Council was held last evening. Present: The Mayor (Mr. C. Cathie), and Councillors Bradnock, Frost, Hildreth, Hamilton, Standcn, Home, Nimmo, Burn and Anderson. > A letter was received from the borough solicitors stating that they had been advised by the Public AA ? orJcs Department that Mr. AV. S Short had been appointed commissioner to conduct the inquiry into the dispute between the Karori Borough and tho Makara County Council re the control and maintenance of certain streets and bridges in the borough. The engineer's fortnightly report stated that maintenance work had been carried out on several roads and sheets'. The construction of a concrete wall on the Recreation Ground is to bo commenced this week. About 100 houses have been surveyed this year, and will be placed on tho borough plans for reference.
