UPPER HUTT COURT.
Dr. M'Arthur, S.M., presided at t'h# monthly sitting of tlio Magistrate's Court .at Upper ITutt yesterday. Angus J. M'Curdy (town clerk) proceeded against several owners for allowing animals to wander. Two charges wero brought against Herbert T. Victor Benge. On 0110 information ho was fined ss„ with costs 75., while (lie other was dismissed. Alfred Southec* appeared to auswer fivo charges respecting ten animals. The easo was described' as a very aggravated one. Defendant was ordered to pay costs, which .amounted to 355. Sarah Dalton, for allowing ono cow to bo at large, was ordered to pay costs (is.). For failing to send his child to school regularly, Andrew Hunter was fined 25., with cosls 7s. William Jones, who admitted that his boy was employed as n telegraph messenger when he should hrivo been at school, was fined 10s., and costs 7s„ and Thomas Sunnex wan fined 25., with costs. A rase against Kate Steinmuller was withdrawn, Mr. Pinneen intimating that he intended to proceed acainst the male puardan. He would then malw application to have the child, who had not attended school since April last, committed to an industrial school. On the civil sido judgment was entered for plaintiff by default in the following i.ndefended eases:—A. nazelwood v. J. ,T nuiilton .fG Bs. 11d„ costs ,C 1 ss. ftl,TTitchen Bros. v.
