THE UNEMPLOYMENT QUESTION
THIS is all honest statement about Prohibition:— 1. Under present conditions you hand over every year .£5,000,000 or mora of your hard-earned wages to the liquor merchants. They givo very little of that amount to their employees. They soon become very wealthy themselves. 2. Their aim, therefore, is to keep you their willing supporters, and to frighten you from destroying their monopoly by your vote. 3. Hencc they say: "Think of the thousands wlio will bo thrown out of employment." WHAT ARE THE FACTS? 1 When Prohibition comes, you will spend nothing on liquor, and will therefore have £5,000,000 to spend on other things much more useful and beneficial. 2. This diverting of such a largo sum to other industries will causo a boom in those industries. Fresh avenues of employment will open up, giving much moro congenial and healthful employment to the liquor-sollers and liquormakers at present omployed by the Trade, and to a great many others. 3. Remember that the Liquor Trade is a very small employer for tho amount of money it handles. This is ilic plain economic effect of Prohibition. Workers, be not afraid of tho unemployment lxigev, but STRIKE OUT BOTH TOP LINES boldly. Still more economics to follow.—Advt,
