THE LAST ACCOUNT.
PROFIT ON THE WELLINGTON EXHIBITION. With every sign of satisfaction, Mr. IIo:iry l'\ Allen, .secretary of the Wellington Indu-strial Exhibition, announced yesterday that the last account in connection with the big show, which did so much to enliven the midwinter weeks this year, had been collected that day. In connection with an exhibition thero was, he said, a good bit to do in the washingup process, but it was all over now, and ho was not sorry. Mr. Allen expressed the opinion that Ihe Exhibition had done a considerable amount of good to Welling Ton— moro than it was given credit for. .At the dullest «ra«>n it created ti great amount of work both for tradesmen and those without any particular trade, and had been the means of circulating money. Making allowances for all disbursements (including the bonuses recently made) the uet profit on tho Exhibition was .£1225 18s. 3d., of which sum .£l2Oll had been placed oa deposit at i per cent. The accounts will now bo handed over lo I the auditors.
